JH Positive Training - Basic Manner Class

Basic Manners is the foundation class for positive reinforcement training. Basic Manners Class teaches Canine Life and Social Skills including calmly greeting strangers, sit, lie down, come, stay and walk nicely on a loose leash. Dogs will learn to pay attention to their handlers with the distraction of other dogs in the area. Basic Manners class is held once a week for four weeks. The fee for Basic Manners is $75.00 for three classes.

Pre-Registration is required.

Group Walk ‘N Train

After Basic Manners Class, we take it to the streets! Group walks with dogs on leash or off leash (depending on the dog and our class location) takes everything you learned in Basic Manners Class and opens up the experience with real life situations. Successful completion of Basic Manners Class is a pre-requisite.

Group Walk ‘N Train participants will teach their dogs to nicely greet strangers, walk past various distractions outside on a loose leash, and learn heeling for safety crossing streets. Handlers will also teach their dogs “Trail Manners” for joggers and bicycles during those classes held in the great outdoors of the Snake River or Cache Creek. The fee for Group Walk ‘N Train is $15.00 per class.

Puppy Class

Puppy class is for 8 to 18 weeks old pups. Owners will learn methods for successful housetraining, and teaching pup to keep teeth on their toys and off arms and hands.  Owners will teach pups Basic Manners.  Playtime is a big part of class so your puppy can learn to play nicely with other pups.  Puppy Class fee is $80 and is held once a week for four weeks. 

Private In-Home Training

Some dogs have one or two areas of training that need fine tuning, and the format of a group class or the schedule does not fit into your plans. We are available for private training sessions at your home, or in the great outdoors; wherever you and your dog need help. Some behavior problems are simply not addressed in a group training class, and a private in-home consultation will create a behavior modification plan for your dog.

Private training fees are $60 per hour; sessions are generally 1 ½ hours.  Multiple lesson packages are available at the rate of $300 for 6 hours of instruction (approximately 4 training sessions).
